Conducts ad-hoc statistical analysis of long-term crime trends.Analyzes new or proposed legislation that may impact investigative functions.Evaluates technological advances that impact detective operations such as i-Base and Analyst Notebook. Studies and assists in the development of automated systems useful to detective operations.The Section’s primary mission is to develop, report and implement improvements in investigative techniques and procedures used by detectives. Investigative Analysis Section (IAS) is responsible for researching and writing a variety of reports on investigative issues provides expert advice related to detective operations and investigative procedures maintains and publishes the Department’s Detective Operations Manual, Homicide Manual, Search Warrant Service Procedures Guide, Detective Information Bulletins, Automated Property Information Management System Users Guide and the Property Disposition Coordinator’s Reference Guide. Investigative Analysis Section Investigative Analysis Section Officer Involved Shooting (O.I.S.) and Critical Incidents.
